David Haertsch studied Architecture in Japan during his studies at Sydney University from which he graduated with Honours in 1986. He established the firm David Haertsch Architect in 1993 specialising in new buildings, alterations and interior design on urban, suburban and rural sites.

While each project is tailored to its site, we develop spatial typologies which may be reinterpreted for the appropriate contemporary setting to give meaning through both use and experience and create a particular sense of being in that unique place. Whether in an urban subdivision or open landscape, the design response of each project to local issues is consistent in materials, form and as response to the inherent qualities of that site and program.

Projects have been recognised with awards from the Australian Institute of Architects and the Master Builders Association of NSW.
